Client Portal
Make invisible work visible
Creative and strategic work is invisible until clients see it. Base publishes a branded portal with custom domain support, client tasks, content review, and performance tabs so clients follow the work behind the retainer, not just the final deliverable in their inbox.

The problem
Clients only see outputs: the deck, the ad, the report. They do not see the iterations, research, calls, or decisions that make your team worth the retainer. When effort is invisible, clients judge you on mood and monthly numbers. Marketing is often the first line item cut, even when your team is doing strong work.
How Base helps
Base gives each client a branded portal drawn from the same workspace your team already uses. Publish dashboards, strategy, and results on your domain. Surface what you need from them, notify your team when they move, and show content in review. When clients see the work every week, perceived value goes up and the conversation shifts from "what are we paying for?" to "what can we do more of?"
How it works
Brand it on your domain
Your logo, accent, and optional custom domain so the portal reads as your agency at portal.youragency.com, not a bolt-on vendor login.
Publish the story of the work
Choose tabs for dashboard, analytics, strategy, and experiments. Clients see momentum and rationale between meetings, not just invoice line items.
Show what's blocking delivery
Turn on client tasks so sponsors see what you need from them, due dates, and why it matters. They mark items complete in the portal instead of losing requests in email.
Auto notify your team
Pick who gets emailed when a client completes a task or leaves feedback on content in review. No one has to poll the portal for movement.
Built into the portal
More than a dashboard link: client tasks, your domain, team alerts, and content review in one client-safe experience.
Client tasks
List what you are waiting on from the client: assets, approvals, access, sign-off. The Needed tab appears when work is open. Clients complete items in the portal so your team stops chasing threads.
Custom domain
Map a subdomain you control (for example insights.clientbrand.com) so every link, email, and QBR slide points at your brand.
Auto notify
Separate notify lists for client task completion and content feedback. The right account managers and producers get pinged when a client moves something forward.
Content calendar
Optional read-only calendar tab for posts sent for client review, ready to publish, or live. Drafts, planned slots, and internal notes stay agency-side until you are ready to share.
FAQ
What can clients see vs agency-only views?+
You control every tab. Internal health scores, upsell pipelines, and raw Throughline conflict views stay agency-side. Client tasks, content calendar, and dashboard tabs only show what you publish.
How does auto notify work?+
In portal settings, set email lists for two events: when a client marks a needed deliverable complete, and when they leave feedback on content in review. Leave a list empty if you prefer no emails for that event.
How does this help retention and expansion?+
When clients cannot see effort, renewals become a debate. When they see progress, strategy, and results in one place, they trust the retainer and start asking how to do more of what is working.
